  • Senior Scientist (Immunology)

    Position Summary:

    We are currently seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our team and advance the projects that are the focus of the company’s research and development goals. The successful candidate will have expertise in immunology, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to learn and acquire new techniques and methodologies. The position is a hands-on, laboratory based role. The candidate is expected to analyze, record and report data, capable of developing new methodologies, and execute projects with appropriate supervision. The candidate will participate in new targets identification and validation to support current and future drug discovery programs. This exciting role will afford scientists the opportunity to be intimately involved in early discovery research and pre-clinical development. The individual will have the opportunity to make significant and high‐impact contributions in a dynamic small group setting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • > Design and execute in vitro experiments aimed at understanding the phenotype and function of human antigen-specific T cells and B cells
    • > In-depth characterization of cellular and humoral immune responses in various models of autoimmunity, preferably in Immune System regulation and Immune Tolerance.
    • > Develop, execute, and trouble-shoot immunoassays, including generating clonal populations, in vitro cellular stimulations, ELISA, and ELISpot
    • > Proficiency with multi-parameter flow cytometry
    • > Share and contribute scientific and technical know-how and experience with team members while promoting cross-functional teamwork.
    • > Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results in a small group setting
    • > Maintain detailed records of experiments in lab notebooks in accordance with company policy
    • > Write manuscripts describing original research for publication in peer reviewed scientific journals
    • > Share in responsibilities to support general lab functions

    Candidate Profile:

    • > PhD in Immunology or related discipline, preferably with focus in autoimmunity, tolerance, or vaccines
    • > 3-5 years of post-doctoral or biotech/pharma experience in developing and conducting laboratory research
    • > Strong background in human immunology
    • > Skilled in cell culture and experience with in vitro functional assays using human primary immune cells is highly desirable.
    • > Broad experience with immunological and molecular principles and techniques including primary lymphocyte isolation/tissue culture, multicolor flow cytometry, cell sorting, ELISA, and ELISpot
    • > Ability to work with large data sets and perform bioinformatic analyses would be a plus.
    • > An understanding of Good Laboratory Practice
    • > A track record of scientific accomplishment and contributions to the field of autoimmunity or tolerance research delivering data of high quality and reproducibility
    • > Detail-oriented scientist capable of multi-tasking in a small dynamic team
    • > Excellent interpersonal and team skills; track record of success working collaboratively
    • > Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • VP, Business Development

    Position Summary:

    This individual will identify, evaluate and pursue the strategic and financial prospects of new strategic opportunities. This individual will quickly synthesize ImmusanT’s strengths and industry priorities to rank order our best Business Development opportunities, then develop, execute, and track strategic partnerships to capitalize on the value of ImmusanT’s assets. Establishes new scientific and strategic partnerships, and alliances. Directs the assessment of future markets and licensing potential.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • > Provide strategic and operational leadership for all ImmusanT’s Business Development activities.
    • > Identify, evaluate and develop investment and partnership opportunities.
    • > Respond to, initiate, or follow up on promising leads.
    • > Identify and engage with key decision makers.
    • > Initiate, develop and close licensing and partnership discussions.
    • > Lead the development of optimal or creative deal structures and processes to maximize value.
    • > Perform all required analysis, due diligence, modeling and simulations in a thoughtful, thorough, accurate, complete and timely manner.
    • > Negotiate, draft and implement appropriate legal agreements to achieve desired commercial goals.
    • > Establish, update and monitor activities with budgets and goals. Measure performance against budget and goals.

    Candidate Profile:

    • > MBA, preferably with an additional advanced science degree
    • > 15+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, or biotech pharma investment banking
    • > A track record of success with small biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
    • > A background in science and an aptitude to quickly understand new science and technology
    • > A proven record of identifying and capitalizing upon value creation opportunities
    • > Familiarity with successful collaborations, licensing and partnership deals, including a demonstrated ability to understand terms, and negotiate and close business deals
    • > Extensive knowledge of industry products, players, and precedent transactions
    • > Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
    • > Superior oral presentation and written communication skills
    • > Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies.
    • > Ability to generate and/or champion new high-value ideas
    • > Energetic, inspirational, insightful, creative and passionate
    • > Ability to instill a sense of urgency around decision-making
    • > Proactive and strategic regarding issues and solutions
