  • Chief Financial Officer

    Position Summary:

    The ideal candidate is a CFO with experience in the life sciences industry, preferably in therapeutics, who has taken a venture-backed company public. The candidate will have recent biotech sector experience and have been the right hand to the CEO with a strong base in financial leadership and demonstrated success with strategic planning, designing and executing a financing strategy to support the company’s growth (IPO experience preferred), developing and maintaining strong relations with Board members and investors and transacting with strategic partners.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • > Integral member of the executive management team, the CFO will be expected to contribute strongly to strategic and operational decision making, with high quality financial advice, experience and analysis.
    • > Act as a partner to the CEO and leadership team – appropriately debate and evaluate business and corporate development and financings strategies (including equity, debt and other non-dilutive funding)
    • > Be central to evaluating, organizing and implementing major transaction including: M&A/IPO/other financings, working with the executive leadership team, Board, advisors/banks, IR and PR firms, current and new investors.
    • > Investor and external relations – build relationships with and give presentations to analysts, investors and other audiences of relevance, working appropriately with the executive team and with advisers – act as a credible and effective representative of the company.
    • > Bring thorough understanding of the US capital markets, and ensure US legal and regulatory compliance compliance (as relevant for private and public companies) and acting as lead liaison with legal advisers and external resources for corporate legal matters.
    • > Bring rounded commercial financial acumen to help the company to accurately build business cases, interpret performance and anticipate the impact of decisions, ensuring that financial input to business decisions is of the highest quality and provided on a timely basis.
    • > Ensure that the company identifies business issues before they escalate and assist the leadership team to timely interpret business performance and make financially informed business decisions.
    • > Contribute at Board level to the evaluation of options for the business, helping maintain a healthy and sustainable balance between the world class scientific roots and foundations of the business, and the commercial opportunities ahead.
    • > Build and maintain a small finance and accounting staff to provide timely, accurate financial records and ensure an appropriate internal control structure is maintained and documented.


    Candidate Profile:

    • > Experience building and leading the finance organization in a biotech company that is based on high quality science and technology.
    • > US public markets experience, including a track record of raising capital, familiarity with and understanding of public company accounting and reporting requirements (US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley) and experience of successfully taking a company through a US listing ideally within the last 3 years
    • > Evidence of a network with the relevant US investor community and advisors
    • > Knowledge of the US tax rules
    • > 10-15 years experience in financial leadership roles including in small-to-medium enterprises
    • > Demonstrated proactive initiative taking and leadership qualities and have operated at Board level
    • > Demonstrable strategic and commercial acumen, underpinned by robust financial, planning and analysis skills
    • > Driven, energetic, with strong interpersonal skills, communication ability and powers of persuasion
    • > Highest ethical standards, command respect and be credible at all levels, helping to impart those standards across the organization

  • Senior Clinical Project Manager

    Position Summary:

    The Senior Clinical Project Manager (SCPM) is responsible for orchestrating clinical operational activities across one or more ImmusanT clinical development programs. The SCPM executes high quality, integrated, cross-functional plans for the clinical programs while adhering to appropriate standards and processes to ensure completion of program goals in compliance with applicable GCP/ICH guidelines and other regulatory requirements. The SCPM is a subject-matter expert with a proved track-record in successful clinical operations management and execution. The SCPM is a critical member of the ImmusanT management team and is a significant contributor to corporate goals.

    The SCPM is responsible for the execution of a clinical study or suite of clinical studies from protocol design to the final clinical study report and applies best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and completion of studies. This position coordinates the activities of vendors, consultants, and internal functional groups that comprise the project team to ensure proper conduct and timely completion of all projects.

    This role may oversee one or more indications across multiple compounds. Each indication may have clinical studies performed on a global scale in coordination with international Clinical Research Organizations. These studies will be submitted to health care regulatory authorities around the world such as the United States Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies. This position will report to the Vice President of Clinical Operations & Project Management.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • > Work closely with the CMO/VP of Clinical Operations & Project Management to develop operational strategies aligned with clinical program and corporate goals
    • > Plan, initiate and execute clinical studies while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements
    • > Participate in creation and/or review of all supporting documents for a clinical study – Protocols, Statistical Analysis Plans, Case Report Forms, Data Management Plans, Clinical Study Reports, etc.to ensure seamless integration between clinical objectives and study performance
    • > Develop and effectively manage budgets, timelines, and resources for clinical studies, and escalate variances to VP
    • > Develop study plans and lead system set-up
    • > Manage and lead cross functional study teams, including vendors and consultants
    • > Ensure training of internal and external team members on appropriate Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and study-specific materials
    • > Maintain up to date study and/or program status within relevant tracking systems and providing management with routine updates
    • > Proactively identify and resolve issues, ensure contingency plans in place to mitigate study execution risks, and manage escalation as appropriate
    • > Utilize appropriate systems and standard processes to ensure quality and consistency of operational activities across studies and indications
    • > Plan and execute Investigator Meetings, Advisory Board Meetings or other scientific meetings as required
    • > Establish working relationship with internal and external clinical/medical experts to support clinical development programs
    • > Qualify, select, and manage external vendors/consultants as required to ensure optimal performance and meet clinical operations goals
    • > Participate in the development and implementation of clinical operations standard operating procedures and common work practices within the team.
    • > Support the preparation of regulatory agency deliverables
    • > Other activities as appropriate


    Qualifications:

      Education/Experience:

    • > Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biotechnology or related field required
    • > Minimum of 10 years of clinical operations experience in the biotech or pharma industry
    • > Demonstrated ability to successfully develop, implement and complete multiple clinical studies and/or programs; experience in managing complex studies or global multi-center studies is preferred
    • > Clinical operations budget and vendor management experience required

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • > Read, write and speak fluent English; excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • > Must have a thorough knowledge of clinical research concepts, practices, and FDA regulations and ICH Guidelines regarding drug development phases, clinical research and data management methods
    • > Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
    • > Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
    • > Enjoys working in a fast-paced, small company environment
    • > Willing to take on new responsibilities as appropriate
    • > Domestic and international travel required (up to 30%)
  • VP, Business Development

    Position Summary:

    This individual will identify, evaluate and pursue the strategic and financial prospects of new strategic opportunities. This individual will quickly synthesize ImmusanT’s strengths and industry priorities to rank order our best Business Development opportunities, then develop, execute, and track strategic partnerships to capitalize on the value of ImmusanT’s assets. Establishes new scientific and strategic partnerships, and alliances. Directs the assessment of future markets and licensing potential.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • > Provide strategic and operational leadership for all ImmusanT’s Business Development activities.
    • > Identify, evaluate and develop investment and partnership opportunities.
    • > Respond to, initiate, or follow up on promising leads.
    • > Identify and engage with key decision makers.
    • > Initiate, develop and close licensing and partnership discussions.
    • > Lead the development of optimal or creative deal structures and processes to maximize value.
    • > Perform all required analysis, due diligence, modeling and simulations in a thoughtful, thorough, accurate, complete and timely manner.
    • > Negotiate, draft and implement appropriate legal agreements to achieve desired commercial goals.
    • > Establish, update and monitor activities with budgets and goals. Measure performance against budget and goals.


    Qualifications and Experience:

    • > MBA, preferably with an additional advanced science degree
    • > 15+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, or biotech pharma investment banking
    • > A track record of success with small biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
    • > A background in science and an aptitude to quickly understand new science and technology
    • > A proven record of identifying and capitalizing upon value creation opportunities
    • > Familiarity with successful collaborations, licensing and partnership deals, including a demonstrated ability to understand terms, and negotiate and close business deals
    • > Extensive knowledge of industry products, players, and precedent transactions
    • > Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
    • > Superior oral presentation and written communication skills
    • > Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies.
    • > Ability to generate and/or champion new high-value ideas
